Formica

I spent the day yesterday at Formica. Had a tour of the factory and a little meeting with James the manager of the bespoke collection. I learnt all about the materials and how it was made as well as how flexible it can be with colour and width. The custom range was my favourite with all of the different possibilities from simple graphics to photographs to scanned in fabric. Amazing day filled full of information. Drawings

Drawings are well underway for the new project which is Final Major. The concept being repeat and how we like things to be measured and repeated to be pleasing to the eye. So with that in mind I am looking at anything that I can make a repeat myself or architecture and structures. This is a few pages out of my sketchbook so far.

Day at the printers

Tuesday last week I spent the day with the lovely Katherine from Earth Inke Wallcoverings at her printers. Helping her make decisions and even a little tour around the factory all of which was exciting stuff. Loved my day and welcome to go back anytime topped it off.
